And yet, when it comes to real life, a lot of the relationships don’t really end up blossoming as beautifully as expected as the pairs tend to fall apart. Take Gerry Turner’s case, for example.
Though he was initially portrayed as the ultimate Golden boy, Turner turned out to have quite a few red flags, which were further increased following his relationship with Theresa Nist. But it seems like even Turner might not be the biggest red flag after all, considering how Joan Vassos’ fiance Chock Chapple is already sending the red signals to many fans and viewers.
Chock Chapple is Making Even Gerry Turner Look Like a Green Flag
Of all the contestants thatJoan Vassosgot to choose from inThe Golden Bachelorette, the one she ended up settling on was Chock Chapple, with whom she is currently spending time in New York following their engagement. And, well, the two seem to be truly in love as Chapple seems to truly please Vassos and make her smile like no one else does.
However, that doesn’t eliminateall the red flags he has been displaying all along. For one, Chapple has shown signs of being a controlling person in more than one instance. Especially during the group bowling date, for one to count, he stuck like glue to Vassos, quite literally blocking his rivals and the other contestants from being physically too close to her in a cutthroat manner.
To say the least, it felt like Chapple marked his territory as he ostensibly seemed a bit insecure about it all, especially when it came to Vassos. And that, obviously, is not necessarily a good thing. As the way Marco explained to Elle inThe Kissing Booth 2, “You can’t really hold on to someone, ’cause the tighter you hold on to them, the more they wanna slip away.”

If that isn’t enough,Vulture‘s review on Chapple already suspects him of giving offvillainousvibes (though they admitted the getting a place in NYC part was cool too).
Comparing all of this to the thingsGerry Turnerhas done toTheresa Nist, fans might as well deem him a green flag after this. This is because, while Turner’s issue was that he just couldn’t bring himself to relocate to the same place as his wife, which eventually led to their divorce, Chapple unarguably seems to have a much more serious issue that might pose a problem in the near future.
Chock Chapple Isn’t the Only One Showing Off So Many Red Flags
While Chock Chapple is one to display such apparently insecure traits that are making fans deem him a red flag, he isn’t the only one doing so. If anything, the other two remaining contestants of the Final Three in the season finale ofThe Golden Bachelorette, i.e. Pascal Ibgui and Guy Gansert, seem to be as problematic and troublemakers as Chapple himself.
Ibgui, for one, left the show after bluntly rejecting Vassos down and telling her that he wasn’t in love with her, shattering her confidence — as was especially visible in the turn of events that followed in the saga. But that’s not all, for he also compared Chapple to the types of creepy men who harass and terrorize women, painting a whole other stalker scandal picture of him.

If that wasn’t weird enough, what’s worse is that the water surrounding Gansert is as murky as ever, making it hard to figure out what exactly lies beneath. With all of these concerning traits aboutthis triobeing put out there, it inevitably seems like Gerry Turner is actually an angel by comparison, even after everything that happened between him and Nist in their unsuccessful marriage. Now, the one thing that remains to be seen is whether Vassos would be more successful than Turner when it comes to relationship longevity.
