14 years after the release of the original, Square Enix, along with the help of Naoki Yoshida, better known as Yoshi-P, is bringing usFinal Fantasy XIV Mobile. After the game was announced, the internet was flooded with a ton of questions from the community. Much to the fans’ satisfaction, Yoshi-P has answered a good chunk of the important ones.

The first question on everyone’s mind was whether we would be getting the originalFFXIVor the rebootedFinal Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Going off of what Yoshi-P told IGN,Final Fantasy XIV Mobilewill indeed be starting withA Realm Reborn.
Yoshi-P will not be taking the Gacha route withFinal Fantasy XIV Mobile
While fans are excited about getting to experienceA Realm Rebornon their handheld devices, some were put off by the idea. This is mainly because this title will be free-to-play on mobile, and games of that sort tend to go hard down the Gacha route.
However, there is nothing to be worried about; as Yoshida explained toIGN,FFXIV Mobileaims for “long-term engagement.” What he means by this is that the game will aim to provide fun over a long period and will only look to generate enough revenue to sustain it, which is the same for the PC version.

Final Fantasy XIV Mobile is an “extension of beloved franchise” but This Move Could Prove to be Detrimental for the Franchise
Yoshida believes that this will allow fans to let go of their worries and simply enjoy the game that the developers have so lovingly crafted.Final Fantasy XIVis the perfect example of this. While the game may not be free-to-play, it is relatively cheap and has the smallest microtransactions.
This has allowed Naoki Yoshida to keepFinal Fantasy XIV’s player base intact and has even helped him grow it to some degree. From his words, it seems like he will be looking to do the same withFinal Fantasy XIV Mobile.

Yoshi-P has been hands-on with the development of FFXIV Mobile
Yoshida also revealed that his team of battle designers, along with himself, have been playing early builds of the game and are actively providing feedback to the developers at Lightspeed Studios. The reason for this is that Yoshi-P wants to ensure that mobile users can have an enjoyable multiplayer experience.
Yoshi-Phas also confirmed thatFinal Fantasy XIV Mobilewill be treated like a sister title to the original game. So, we can expect a similar experience, though there is still no word on whether active players will be able to unify their accounts or not.

Lastly, Yoshi-P said that there is no finish line forFinal Fantasy XIVand that the game will continue to get content as long as he doesn’t retire.
So between the upcoming mobile version and the recently released Dawntrail expansion,Final Fantasyfans will have plenty to enjoy and rejoice over. As things stand, the plan is to release the game in mainland China and then go for a global release.

However, there is still no release date, but we speculate that the title should come out sometime next year. What do you think aboutFinal Fantasy XIV Mobileopting against the Gacha Route? Let us know in the comments below.
