Microsoft’s messaging has been pretty clear over the last few weeks - they’re all about the consumer. Xbox Game Pass keepsgetting bigger and betterand the long-awaitedxCloud is now on the horizonand is launching within the next few weeks.  Microsoft also threw no punches when confirming players can use theirDualShock 4 with Xbox’s cloud gaming service, but they can’t with any PS5 games.

Now, Microsoft has shared more details about the upcoming “Big Gaming Weekend” which kicks off today. Microsoft has kindly “Unlocked 6 Xbox Game Pass games, and another 4 on top of that!” And best of all, they’re free for all players, regardless of whether or not you have an Xbox Live subscription or an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

The event entitles anybody who owns an Xbox One to play any of the below games over this weekend:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare(Multiplayer only) - Available 8/7 – 8/10 -Console

Dragon Ball Fighterz- Available 8/6 – 8/10 -Console

Monster Hunter World- Available 8/6 – 8/10 -Console

There are some really great games on the list with players able to jump into thecritically acclaimedGears 5and the monster hit that isCall of Duty: Modern Warfareat no extra cost.

While it’s another very pro-consumer move from Microsoft, it’s interesting that it comes at a time where there’s heavy speculation that they’re permanentlydoing away with their Xbox Live Gold service. It also comes at a time when Microsoft is aiming to boost their subscription base heading into the next generation of consoles, and this “Big Gaming Weekend” offers players a great taster of the value that Xbox Game Pass holds.
