Nian Suichang is a major NPC inWuchang: Fallen Feathers. While his story has no direct tie to the ending of the game, he helps you with many of the game’s boss fights, and can be found from near the beginning to the end.
Nian’s goal is simple. Armed with hisone-handed sword,he wishes to prove himself as a mighty champion, and thanks to your aid, he just might accomplish his dreams.

Of course, if you want to see his quest through to the end, you will need to track him down in various locations.Here’s everything you need to know to complete Nian’s quest in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
We begin our journey on the way to Shu Sanctum afterdefeating the Master Raider bossin Lightzen Temple. Along the pathway leading out of the temple to the Sanctum, you will spot Nian standing under a tree on the side of the path.

Speak with Nian here and exhaust his dialogue. In return, he will give you the whistleused for summoning NPCs. Think of it as this game’s version of the White Soapstone.
Nian’s Second Location - Shu Sanctum/Feathered Priest Boss Fight
Continue along the path to Shu Sanctum, the second safe haven in the game. Here, you will see Nian standing next to the Shrine. He is searching for a cure for his brother’s illness. You have met his brother Qiao Lin at the Reverent Temple at the start of the game.
Go to the top of Shu Sanctum to find the first boss you can summon an NPC for, theFeathered Priest.Defeating this boss will get you an item called Mercurial Blood. Give this item to Nian when he returns to the Shu Sanctum Shrine.

Nian’s Third and Fourth Locations - The Reverent Temple
After handing over the Mercurial Blood, Nian will make his way back to the Reverent Temple to bring the cure to his brother. Talk to Nian here and he will tell you that his brother is doing much better.
Skip forward in the story a bit til the point youdefeat Commander Honglan.Once this monumental feat has been accomplished, you will wake back up at Reverent Temple.

Make your way out to the courtyard to find Nian waiting in front of the locked door. Open the door and speak with him to advance his quest.
Nian’s Fifth Location - Hillswatch
Progress along the game’s main path, and you will spot Nian once more when you reach Hillswatch. He is along the main path and difficult to miss. Talking to him will reveal that he lost his path on the way after a scuffle.
Continue up the hill to find his tattered pack around the next group of enemies. Pick it up and return to Nian. Choose to give him the Tattered Pack.

At this point, you will have two dialogue options: one to expose him, and the other to stay silent. It is important tochoose the “Stay Silent” option,as choosing the other option will end his questline. You will also get the Sorry Emote for staying silent.
Nian’s Sixth Location - Rebel Camp
Press on to the Rebel Camp in Cloudspire. Make your way through the encampment and locate the General of the North boss door.
Nian can be found standing outside the boss’s arena. Talk to him, and he will tell you to summon him for thefight against the General of the North.
After the boss battle, leave the arena to find Nian in the same spot. This time, he will be sitting down. Talk to him to get congratulations and an invitation to spar.
Nian’s Seventh Location - Refugee Camp
Next, Nian will move to the Refugee Camp. This is near Zhenwu Temple and one of theInner Demon fight locations.When interacting with him here, you will have the option to say “Nothing” or to “Stay Silent.“Again, you should stay silent.
After you progress into the Avian Marsh, Nian will move to locations in the Refugee Camp. This time, he will be behind one of the locked doors. To reach him, go through the Avian Marsh and follow the path up from theBo Sorcerer’sboss arena.
Nian’s Eighth and Ninth Locations - Zhenwu Temple
Progress into Zhenwu Temple and defeat the General of the South. Immediately after, you will be able to talk to Nian just outside the Refugee Camp on the walkway above the boss arena. He will tell you to summon him again.

Continue through the temple to theFierce Tiger boss fightand summon Nian to aid you once more. After this fight, Nian will seemingly disappear for a while.
Nian’s Tenth Location - Behind the Altar
Continue through the game’s other half, which leads you through Cloudspire, anddefeat the Perfect Pride boss.Once this has been accomplished, return to the Fierce Tiger’s boss arena and travel down the hill into the bamboo grove to find Nian once more.
Nian will tell you that he is heading back to Worship’s Rise. He will once again mention sparring with you to test his strength.
Nian’s Eleventh and Twelfth Locations - Worship’s Rise in Ruins
You will reach a point in the game where you’re able to transition the world to a ruined state. Once this happens, you will have the location “Worship’s Rise in Ruins.” In this area, travel to Shu Sanctum and take the path that leads up to the statue that helpsquell your madness.
You will see Nian sitting on the cliffside next to his brother’s corpse. On his brother’s body, you will be able to pick up the Sword of Exorcism item.
Talking to Nian will reveal that the cure he gave his brother didn’t work. Talking to him after this will result in him crying.
Make your way down the hill with the organic red bridge. This will lead you to the Annalum Courtyard. Rest at the Shrine here and then return to the cliffside where you found Nian.
Nian and his brother’s body will be gone, and in their place will be the Champion’s Armor Set he wore along with the Zhanlu Sword.
Nian’s final location is back in the Annalum Courtyard. Go back to the Shrine and then interact with the door of the building in the area.
Each time you interact with the door, you will continue to hear Nian cry. Nian remains here until you have completed the game and reset the world to start his quest anew.
