Speaking with the outlet,Willem Dafoeconfessed how after working in 150 movies, he was forced to take a break for four months, due to the actors’ strike. But somehow, despite being passionate about his acting profession, the break didn’t hurt him much, mainly because of his small farm. “I never know how much to talk about this. Basically, let’s say, I was a gentleman farmer.” Dafoe began.

Apart from his vegetable garden just outside Rome, Willem Dafoe noted having “lots of animals” on the farm, irrespective of never having pets in his life. And quite obviously he has now grown attached to those animals and he seemingly likes their company.

“I’m basically a vegetarian, so I do it just for the pleasure of their company and to try to give them a good life, which is a little naive.”
