We want all our classic games to be available for modern consoles because we just want to be able to reach as many people who may have never had the opportunity to play these games back in the day. So we constantly think forward and we want to make sure that it’s as accessible as possible for all audiences.

Matsumoto emphasized that this collection is not just about nostalgia. It’s part of a larger vision that the developer has for theVersusseries and their other legacy fighting games. It is keenly aware of the demand from fans for re-releases of classic titles on modern platforms,like with the upcomingDead Rising Deluxe Remaster.
