Riot Games is finally expanding its portfolio with Valorant, a 5v5 character-based tactical first-person shooter. While details about the game have begun to emerge, it has yet to be available to the public. That all changes with the recently announcedValorant Closed Betawhich gives players around the world a chance to check out the free-to-play game. When does the Valorant Closed Beta start?

You won’t have to wait too long to check out Riot Games' upcoming free-to-play shooter. The Valorant Closed Beta begins April 7 on PC at 2 PM CET/6 AM PST. Like many beta periods, the time you may start playing will depend on your region.

The Valorant Closed Beta will be available in the United States, Canada, Russia, Turkey, and Europe. Unfortunately, Riot Games could not get the closed beta available in other regions. How to get access to Valorant Closed Beta

Getting access to the closed beta is pretty simple. You simply have to register a Riot account, which some of you may have if you play League of Legends. You then have to link that account to a Twitch account. Once the closed beta is up and running in your region, you will need to watch specific Valorant streams to get access. As time goes on, Riot Games will allow more players to check out the closed beta. However, as of now, the number of players that will have access will be pretty limited based on the current server capacity.

Does your progress carry over from Valorant Closed Beta to full release?

The simple answer is no, your progress will not carry over from the closed beta to the full release. Everyone will begin at square one when the game hits its currently scheduled Summer 2020 release window.

Despite that, you will be able to purchase Valorant points, the game’s virtual currency you will use to make purchases in the in-game store. However, you will not have to worry about losing your points. When the game fully launches, you will receive all of your points back, as well as an addition 20% bonus.

How long will the closed beta last?

There is no specific date for when the closed beta will end. According to the language used in theannouncement, it seems it will be around until its Summer 2020 launch window. However, if “unexpected feedback” occurs, that date may change.
