A new report has now surfaced stating that Microsoft is also considering taking two of its biggest exclusive franchises to the rival platform. The company has not commented on any of these rumors, but if they are true, this could very well be the end of Microsoft’s rivalry with Sony.
Latest Rumors Suggest Xbox Is Considering Bringing Gears of War and Halo to PS
After earlier rumors hinted, that Microsoft is planning to release exclusive titles for Nintendo and PS, fans have wondered why the company would want to do so. Some believe that it is due to the failure of its exclusive games, struggling console sales, and maintaining the massive Game Pass. Players are understandably enraged and have been criticizing the company for this decision.
Starfield, Indiana Jones, and More Supposed Xbox Exclusives Could Be Hitting Your PlayStation 5 Soon, if Reports Are to Be Believed
The latest report now comes from Insider Jeff Grubb via the latest episode ofGiant Bomb’s Game Mess Morningswho claims that the company is considering bringingGears of WarandHaloto PS. He said that the game is“definitely under consideration”for a PS port, and there is internal debate about this, but a final decision has not been made yet.
This would be a massive decision for Microsoft, as it is the only big franchise connected to Xbox name other thanHalo. Gruff added that Microsoft should“just put it on PlayStation”if it’s not going to hold anything back. These newly rumored titles join other exclusive titles likeStarfield,Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,Sea of Thieves,Hi-Fi Rush,Pentiment, and potentiallySenua’s Saga: Hellblade II.

With Xbox Games Rumoured to be Coming to PlayStation 5, Does that Mean One Upcoming Marvel Xbox Exclusive Will be Joining Them?
It is also not specified if all the games in the franchise will be coming to the platform or only the new games. It’s been over four years sinceGears 5was released, and the next installment in the franchise is said to be in development despite any official announcement, so there are chances that the upcoming game might not be exclusive.
The game is expected to be released sometime in 2025 and could be released on multiple platforms. It’s important to know that Microsoft is only said to be considering these moves as part of its massive change in strategy, and the aforementioned titles may not come to its competitor platforms, but the sheer number of rumors only adds fuel to the fire.

Grubb also added that Microsoft initially planned to announce these changes in strategy at the end of February, but these leaks and rumors may see the updates coming sooner than expected. Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming has already announced that the company is planning an event to provide a“business update.”
He further added that they are excited to share the future of Xbox but only added next week and did not provide a specific date. If Spencer’s comments are taken into consideration, there might be an event planned somewhere around July 15, 2025.
