The Wild Hearts developershave been hard at work lately, adding all sorts of updates and gimmicks to the game, including new Kemono (monsters), helpful Karakuri (combat gadgets), and more variety for builds using the Limit Break system (added inversion 1.2.0). However, this variety is only intended for late-game builds, as players can only acquire the orbs that unlock the equipment upgrade option by defeating high-level, volatile Kemono.
Thanks toTheouterheaven’s more detailed breakdownof the Limit Break system, we now know that the core orbs required for an upgrade have a somewhat abysmal drop rate, given the number required to upgrade a single piece of equipment. For example, you need at least 20 orbs to upgrade the first level of the Limit Break ability, and Volatile Kemono only drop 1 orb per fight, making it an egregious grind fest at full display.
That said, the report also mentions that these core orbs can be refunded if players don’t like the abilities they’ve unlocked, but those who do will not be able to get back all of the money and other normal orbs they used in the process of limit-breaking a piece of equipment, so players will still need to exercise caution with this new feature.
Thelatest update notesalso mention a plethora of QoL changes to make combat visually easier for players, including the addition of a Hunter’s Vision to make it easier to reach a target Kemono, improved visibility of Talismans on the map, and the flashing of the stamina bar when it drops below a certain level. Small Kemono have also received changes so that fights with volatile Kemono will not be interrupted by smaller Kemono initiating combat mid-fight.
