Before he became Batman, Ben Affleck was Daredevil, and as much as he loved the character, he wasn’t truly happy with the movie. Matt Damon, Guy Pearce, and Edward Norton luckily dodged a bullet here, and Affleck bore the criticism on his ill-fated 2003 comic book film.
The three actors were considered for the part of Matt Murdock, but being the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen wasn’t part of their plans at the time. They refused the role for varied reasons.

In a 2023 interview withYahoo, Johnson stated that many actors were considered for the role of Daredevil. “There were a lot of people in the mix,” he said before confirming “I did meet with Edward Norton.” Obviously,The Incredible Hulkstar also passed on it.

Finally, the director found his lead star inBen Affleck. “I met with a couple of other actors, too, but Ben was a fan of Daredevil because of Kevin Smith, so it ended up being him,” he explained.
