A lot of A-listers try to refrain from giving interviews to journalists or media outlets as they feel like it is an absolute waste of time other than when they are trying to promote their work. Adam Sandler is allegedly also one of such celebrities but as the actor once revealed in an interview, his reason for staying away from media is a bit different than the others.

Adam Sandler doesn’t like doing interviews
Adam Sandleris one of the most established actors in the industry at the moment and the American actor has been making a lot of headlines recently after he portrayed the role of Jakub Procházka in the science fiction movie,Spaceman.

Although the movie was not much of a critical and commercial success, the American actor was praised a lot by critics for his performance as the Czech astronaut. However, despite being praised for this particular movie, Sandler has a history of not liking to engage with critics and journalists in interviews.
Once in an interview withThe Harvard Crimsonback in 2000, Adam Sandler opened up about an incident where he felt really disappointed by a person who interviewed him. He said,

“The worst part about all of it-as a guy who gets a lot of sh*t from critics-is like, one time I was in a room with a person who kept going on and on about how much he loved the movie and he’s just going nuts and looking me in the eye. That night, I see him on TV saying ‘This movie is useless.’ And I’m like, ‘Dude! That’s the guy who was nice to me.'”

Adam Sandler doesn’t give a sh*t about critics and reviews anymore
It is human nature to be concerned about the reviews and outcome of your work and even A-listers are concerned at times about the overall response of their work. However, as Adam Sandler once revealed in an interview withThe Harvard Crimson, he couldn’t possibly care less about reviews from media publications and critics.

Sandler portrayed the role of Nicky, the youngest son of Satan and an angel in the comedy film,Little Nicky. Although the movie was not much of a success, a few major media outlets appreciated his performance in the movie. However, since he had also received a ton of negative reviews from these outlets in the past, theClickactor simply did not care anymore. He said,
“They gave us two good reviews for Little Nicky. But then I was like, ‘I don’t care.’ I’ve only gotten bad reviews from them-I’m not gonna be like, ‘Ooooh. I finally got ’em.’ I’m more like, ‘Fck you. I don’t give a fck.’

In the beginning, I did, when I did Billy Madison, but now I realize I didn’t get into this business to have a critic like me. I got into it to get people to laugh. As a kid, I went to the movies to laugh my a*s off, to hang out with my friends, to go on a date.”
Little Nickyturned out to be a major box office bomb as the movie went on to gross almost $58 million against a production budget of $85 million thus failing to break even. The movie also went on to receive a lot of negative reviews from fans and critics alike.

Little Nickyis currently available for rent on Apple TV+.
