Bradley Cooperco-wrote, directed, and starred in the biographical romantic dramaMaestro, which chronicled the lifelong relationship of conductor-composer Leonard Bernstein and actress Felicia Montealegre (Carey Mulligan).
The film received four Golden Globes nominations, including Best Director and Best Male Actor (drama). TheStar is Born director earned plenty of plaudits for capturing Bernstein’s life through the lens of his marriage. Still, that didn’t prove enough at the 2024 Golden Globes, as he missed out on both awards toOppenheimerpair Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy.
Mulligan, meanwhile, was upstaged byKillers of the Flower Moonstar Lily Gladstone for the Best Female Actor (drama) award.
However, much of the focus on social media is on nine-time Oscar nominee Cooper, who continues to remain bereft of major honors.

According to a report fromBGR,Maestro, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September, had a massive budget of $80 million – a big commitment for a movie that failed to stay in Netflix’s Top 10 (US) for a considerable period and has now returned home empty-handed from the Golden Globes.

How Netflix and Bradley Cooper Are Preparing for Oscar Night

The movie is seen as a “passion project” of Cooper, who reportedly spent six years learning how to conduct, for a scene of just six minutes, recreating Bernstein’s tour de force with the London Symphony Orchestra.
As much as his efforts are praise-worthy, it’s tough to seeMaestroenjoy a prolific night at the Oscars after drawing a blank at the Golden Globes.
