During a recentfinancial call,CD Projekt Redconfirmed that the upcoming remake ofThe Witcherwon’t be released until after the launch of The Witcher 4, which currently doesn’t have a set release window.
The studio was questioned on the release timeline for many of their upcoming titles, including The Witcher Remake and whether or not it would arrive after or before other Witcher titles currently in development. “Yes, [The Witcher Remake] will come after [The Witcher 4], which is a consequence of how we think about this project”, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kicinski said in response to the question.

Kicinski continued, “we think that the remake will be based in a big part on technologies from Polaris. So, it will be developed partially parallel to Polaris, but once Polaris is launched, everything for Polaris will be then in the final shape and it will be partially produced in the remake”. For those that might be confused, Polaris is the codename for The Witcher 4.
Although it could still be a long wait for the release of both The Witcher Remake and The Witcher 4, CD Projekt Red has a huge amount of projects in the works. Not only is the studio developing a new DLC expansion forCyberpunk 2077, but it was also recently confirmed that a sequel was in the early stages of development too. As for fans of the studios' The Witcher series, three new games are in development, alongside the highly anticipated remake of the original title.
CD Projekt Red’s recent financial report also revealed thatThe Witcher Remake will be completely open-world, unlike the original title, which was not. Unfortunately, the studio has announced many of its titles whilst still in the very early stages, which means there’s no release window for many of the upcoming projects. However, the first of the bunch expected to hit shelves is the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty, which will reportedly be released sometime in 2023.
