The project will provide a worm’s view within the universe that couldn’t be tackled in the original trilogy. It has now been reported that Bit Reactor is working on anew project set within the universe and recruited the aid of 15 veterans of theXCOMfranchise to share their expertise.

The franchise has a ton of untapped potential that wasn’t highlighted in previous projects and it is up to game developers to flesh out the lore. Other games have focused on certain aspects of the franchise and most were well-received.
Bit Reactor has the advantage of having veterans on their side and the popularity of the franchise. Only time will tell before the developers will share anything about it.
