In Marvel Comics, Legion, the mutant son of Charles Xavier, goes back in time to kill Magneto before he can go his nefarious ways. However, he accidentally kills Charles Xavier in the past, which kicks off a chain of events.
These events lead to the character of Apocalypse appearing 10 years before he arrived in the original timeline. The supervillain takes control of the Earth and everything that happened after until Magneto sends the mutant Bishop back in time to prevent the murder of Professor Charles Xavier.
