And if the rumors are true, Marvel Comics has got some great storylines thatJoe Russoand Anthony Russo can explore. One particular storyline involving Marvel characters and the X-Men comes to mind after hearing this rumor.

The Russo brothers can bring on the Age of Apocalypse to the MCU

It’s not exactly the Apocalypse we saw in the 2016 disastrous filmX-Men: Apocalypse, but it’s a slightly different storyline that can go on a very dark path if Joe and Anthony Russo decide to take that chance.

In Marvel Comics, Legion, the mutant son of Charles Xavier, goes back in time to kill Magneto before he can go his nefarious ways. However, he accidentally kills Charles Xavier in the past, which kicks off a chain of events.

These events lead to the character of Apocalypse appearing 10 years before he arrived in the original timeline. The supervillain takes control of the Earth and everything that happened after until Magneto sends the mutant Bishop back in time to prevent the murder of Professor Charles Xavier.

In doing so, the original timeline is restored and the world goes back to normal. However, with Joe andAnthony Russoin the mix, the Age of Apocalypse storyline could go down in history as one of the best cinematic arcs ever presented in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As much as we love talking about it, there can be no confirmations about the rumors of the deal between Marvel Studios and the Russo brothers. All that we can say is, that if the news is true, we are in for a treat.
