The developers took a different approach to the Norse Saga. The retired god has enough blood on his hands andwill not hesitate to take another lifeif it means to protect his family. After discovering a prophecy about Atreus dying at the hands of Heimdall, Kratos immediately looks for a way to avert his son’s fate by killing the herald of the Aesir.
Some fans think the only god that can beat Kratos is another version of him. Fighting a monster requiresthinking like a monsterand Heimdall goaded him at the moment of his death and forced him to retreat to his old ways.

Kratos fought the likes of Thor, Odin, and many more powerful gods but none walked away victorious. Everywhere the Ghost of Sparta goes, death follows which could be avoided if they left him in solace.
No One Can Beat the Retired God of War Except Himself
No matter how hard he tries, Kratos cannot escape his past. Heimdall had the advantage of speed but his ego got the best of him to his downfall.
Heimdall could see every move before any opponent made it but could not anticipate the player’s next moves after he was overwhelmed. Kratos has proven his experience in combat by not throwing his full weight and learned all his moves before doing serious damage.

No one is perfect, not even the gods. Heimdall’s overconfidence is his greatest weakness and could have made him a bigger threat in the Nine Realms without it.
Killing gods is not an issue for the Ghost of Sparta but his efforts to improve are being challenged. There is only so much he can do to escape any conflict.
