TheDragon Ballfranchise has proven that it has a knack for bringing old and seemingly forgotten or buried concepts back with a fresh twist. They have done this many times and continue to do so in the newDragon Ball DAIMAseries as well.
One such forgotten plot line is the ability that was showcased by Piccolo and later seemingly left out of any other chapters – the Namekian Super Giant Form. This is one transformation that deserves a triumphant return inDragon Ball Super, of course, with a twist.
When Piccolo used this transformation against Goku during the World Tournament, the announcer said that he was as big as a mountain (or volcano in the anime). However, during that time, Goku takes advantage of Piccolo’s gargantuan size to defeat him with agility, causing him to realize the flaws of the form and thus return to his base form.
The Namekian Super Giant Form could be used by Orange Piccolo
The Super Giant form was not used by Piccolo first. The first time this ability was introduced during the original series was when Lord Slug demonstrated the power of this form. The form went on to be canon and even appeared in games likeBudokai Tenkaichi 2.
It was like a Namekian could grow to gargantuan size and rival the Saiyan’s Great Ape Form. The advent of Orange Piccolo in theDragon Ball Superseries made him a canon character. TheNamekian Super Giant transformationcould now receive an upgrade, and make it more relevant.
The Orange Piccolo itself is massively powerful let alone using the innate Namekian abilities and turning him into a complete weapon of mass destruction and power.

Orange Piccolo’s debut inDragon Ball Super: Super Herodemonstrated that it is time for the character’s resurgence as a frontline warrior. The recent episodes inDAIMAalso seem to be trying to give a more solidified background setting to Piccolo.
