WARNING: This article includes spoilers for The Last Of Us: Part II and potential spoilers for HBO’s The Last Of Us Season 2.
Production onHBO’s The Last Of UsSeason 2 is officially in full swing, with the new season expected to premiere sometime in 2025. And as we’re now almost three weeks into filming, fans have been posting new set photos regularly, with the latest image giving a glimpse into one of the game’s most iconic scenes.

HBO’s adaptation of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed video game,The Last Of Us, shot to fame when its first season aired back in January 2023. Afterwinning 8 Primetime Emmy awardsand beingnominated for 3 Golden Globes, fans are chomping at the bit to get their hands on a second season. There’s sadly still quite some time to go until Season 2 hits our screens, but we do have a glimpse at what’s to come thanks to some behind-the-scenes set photos. But be warned, spoilers are ahead!
The Last Of Us Mod Will Soon Add New Infected, Friendly Dogs, And More
A brand new mod will be added to The Last of Us that includes horrific burning infected, dogs that are friendly, weapon shops, a new menu, and more.
Over onHBO’s The Last Of Us subreddit, one user was lucky enough to get a glimpse at part of Season 2’s set as they drove by. The user said, “They’re shooting in an old church. They’ve dressed the outside of it with snow and string lights. Serious Jackson dance scene vibes.” Check out the image below for a behind-the-scenes glimpse.

Thisisn’t the first timethat set photos have appeared on the subreddit, but it is one of the few times that we’ve been able to piece together what part of the game the set is from. Although it’s merely speculation, the above image all but confirms that the Jackson dance scene from The Last Of Us: Part II will feature in Season 2.
The segment in the game shows Ellie attending a dance in Jackson, as she looks on fondly at Dina. The two eventually begin to slow dance together before sharing their first kiss. After being confronted by Seth, who refers to Dina and Ellie as ‘dykes’, Joel quickly comes to the pair’s aid in what is one of the most emotional scenes in the entire game.

Fans reacted to the set photo with both excitement and anxiety. “Omg the dance. I don’t think my heart will be able to take this,” Reddit userSage-Ravensaid.Another saidthey were emotional just seeing the set photo as it reminded them of seeing the scene for the very first time.
HBO did a superb job with adapting the first game, so we can’t wait to see how Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann adapt this emotional scene when Season 2 rolls around next year.
