Set to film in Favignana, also known as “goat island,” the approach is quite an interesting one for a very big reason.
According to scholars, it is believed that Homer envisioned Sicily to be one of the places in Odysseus’s journey, with Favignana specifically being the place where he would have landed with his crew for food.

Villeneuve also did not want to use the same locations that he used inDune: Part One, which resulted in a lot of challenges.
Considering this, one can imagine that Nolan will face similar challenges when makingThe Odyssey.
