Brolin revealed what his version of Batman would look and sound like, and it was clear that Zack Snyder wanted to go for a different creative direction. An older Batman would have changed the entire story of the movie along with 2017’sJustice League.

When asked byThe Huffington Postabout his reaction towardsBen Affleckbagging the coveted role, Brolin held no ill feelings. Instead, he felt sorry for theArgoactor after he was heavily criticized by the public for his casting in Snyder’s film.

He’s trying to make the best choices he can.’ I want him to kick a—s, and I want everyone to love it and kind of eat their words.”

Josh Brolin Still Wants To Become Batman

Before he starred asDeadpool’s Cable and MCU’s Thanos, Josh Brolin was not a stranger to comic book heroes. He notably appeared as DC’s disfigured gunslinger in the critically panned Warner Bros filmJonah HexwithMegan Fox.

As he mentioned in the same interview with Josh Horowitz, he likes those odds between roles that might work unexpectedly or not at all, hence his taste for taking on risky projects. He would also contemplate if he would be the guy that would make a movie head for its own doom.

Despite the uncertainty, Brolin declared he is still open to playing an older version of Batman when he turns 80. Who knows? He might be able to deliver what he originally planned to do for the character in a futureBatmanfilm.
