If you visit the site of this home inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you will notice that the house is overgrown. Interestingly, Zelda also seemed to have moved in with Link during his time at the house. Unfortunately, the house is no longer being lived in, and Link doesn’t have the option to move back in.

Thankfully, Link is able to buy another house to live in. This house is much better than the last house as you can customize what the house looks like and build it yourself. You can pick from 18 designed rooms to create the perfect house. It is located on the hillside overlooking Tarrey Town. The only issue is that you have to complete a lengthy quest in order to be able to purchase it.

How To Unlock Buying A House
In order to unlock the ability to purchase a house, you must first complete the quest Mattison’s Independence. This quest can be obtained in the Hudson Construction headquarters in Tarrey Town. This is located right beside the railcar that takes you down to the Hudson Construction construction zone. You will need to spend some time with Hudson’s daughter, Mattison. She is Gerudo and is about to leave for Gerudo Town for some time. Her parents want her last day in town to be really special. Once you complete the quest, you will obtain some Rupees and the Hudson Construction Paraglider Fabric. Then you will be able to talk to the company about building you a home.
Mattison’s Independence Walkthrough
Once you have picked up the quest, walk outside the house and walk up the steps to the side of the house. You will then find the door to Mattison’s room. Speak to her and she will ask you to follow her.
You will follow her across the town to a small bench where her grandparents are. It is just across the small pond in the center of town. She will ask you and her grandparent what word means “granny” in Gerudo. You will then be given three different options to tell her.The correct answer is Vaba.

After that, she will mention wanting to see her father, but she can’t due to the man who stands by the railcar. He will tell her she must pay in order to get down to the construction site. She mentions that if she could just have something cover his eyes for a few moments, she could sneak on.Take the wooden plank leaning up against the house across from the man and use it to cover him up. Then go talk to Mattison and tell her she is able to go now.
After you follow Mattison down to the construction site, you will find her talking to her father, Hudson. He has built her a hot air balloon that will allow her to safely make it to Gerudo Town without running into any enemies. He will ask you to bring him 10 Sundelions, so he can dye her hot air balloon yellow. This is her favorite color, and he believes it will make her hot air balloon special for her. you’re able to find these scattered around the construction site and around the Sky Islands. If you have the Sensor+ installed on your Purah Pad, take a photo of aSundelionand use it to hunt them around the area. It will make the Purah Pad beep whenever you are close to one.

Bringing the Sundelions back to him will cause a cutscene to play where Hudson gets the news that Mattison’s Gerudo escort is in town. He will then ask Link to ride the hot air balloon up with them to Tarrey Town. They want to go meet the Gerudo escort and give them the balloon so that they can safely return to town.
Once there, Mattison will have a small going away party. Most of the town will be in attendance and tell her to keep them up to date with what she is doing. She will then tell her parents goodbye and head to Gerudo Town.

How To Build Your House
Building your house can be a difficult task at first. One thing you want to keep in mind while building is that you must make sure all rooms are facing each other. You will see nets blocking off the room while you’re building. These nets symbolize the entrance to the room. If you cover up the nets, you won’t be able to get into the room. You’ll want to make sure that you are connecting the netted areas together. This will allow you to build your house so that you can enter it properly.
All Rooms Available
There is a total of 13 rooms, a paddock for your horse, 2 types of steps, a pond, and a flower bed for Link to purchase for his house.
