The two new characters are Dohalim Ilcarus and Kisara. Note that the official spellings for each character’s first names were revealed on theTales of AriseJapanese Twitter account. The trailer’s Japanese dub versioncan be found here.

Tales of Arise- Dohalim, Kisara profiles revealed

Short profiles for Dohalim and Kisara were shared as well on Twitter:

Dohalim is an eccentric person and a noble from Rena, and yet treats people from Dhana like friends. Dohalim has a deep knowledge of not only music, but also poetry, collecting antiquities, and many different arts.

Kisara is a soldier who believes the people of planets Rena and Dhana can coexist peacefully. Kisara is from Dhana, and serves Dohalim. She’s one of the strongest soldiers of the Dhana army, which exclusively recruits Dhana people. Kisara is also highly regarded by the soldiers of Rena, and in fact she also uses Rena equipment.

The voice actress for Kisara and the voice actor for Dohalim were not revealed yet. When it comes to the Japanese cast, I’m personally bettingCanna Nobutoshiis the seiyuu of Dohalim.

Tales of Arisetrailer - Mysterious hooded swordman

Note that a mysterious, hooded character is also teased in the new Summer Games Fest trailer, likely a major antagonist ofTales of Arise. As we can see them clashing swords with our protagonist Alphen.

The character was described on twitter: “A mysterious swordsman, clad in black, who overcomes Alphen and co. His eyes seem to be searching for something, and he looks at both human and monsters as if looking at worthless pebbles”.

His seiyuu was not revealed either, but I’m betting onToshiyuki Morikawa.

Note that the trailer also features more non-introduced characters, most notably this one we see for a split second:

Instead of eight or more characters, six party members seems to be cemented in as the new usual for the series. This was also the case inTales of Berseria, the latest console game. The limited edition forTales of Arisealso includes six DLC costumes, meaning these will be the final six playable characters:

Tales of Ariseis coming on August 02, 2025 on PC via Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. The game will launch one day earlier in Japan.
