After finishing the superhero series, Benoist got a call from executive producer Sarah Schechter and co-creator Julie Plec to join them forThe Girls on the Bus.She toldEW:
“They told me about the scope of the show and the character and what they wanted to do.”
Although skeptical at first, Benoist joined the crew ofThe Girls on the Buswithin 48 hours of the offer. She mentioned that the reason she joined the crew of the show was because, afterSupergirl,she wanted to do something that she truly loved.
