If you’re wondering how to complete the Teleportation Experiment inStarfield Shattered Space, you’re in the right place. The new DLC has been around for a while now, teleporting fans to the mysterious planet of Va’ruun’kai. Many quests need to be completed, and enemies are waiting to be defeated here.

The Teleportation Experiment is a challenging puzzle that must be completed as part of Exhuming the Past, one of the first main quests in the DLC. This puzzle is crucial for the successful completion of the mission, so you must execute everything precisely. Thankfully, this is where our guide comes in to help.
What Is Teleportation Experiment, and Why Do You Need It?
To complete the Teleportation Experiment, you must first startthe Exhuming the Past quest inStarfieldShattered Space. This quest will activate when you travel to Ma’Leen Dam. Upon arrival, you need to interact with the ID Card Reader. However, you won’t be able to access the dam immediately because you lack a key card.
To solve this, you’ll need to find a kid named Comrak Abbas, who can be found wandering nearby. Speak to him about the key card. He’ll mention that he can help and will direct you to Abbas Seaweed Farm to retrieve the card. Once there, you’ll need to find Kaviil Fahrzanas and ask him for the key card.

Once you obtain the key card from Kaviil Fahrzanas, you can return and access the dam, completing a critical part of the mission. Since there won’t be many enemies inside, you can explore the area comfortably. However, staying alert is essential to guard against any unexpected surprises.
Continue your exploration until you find a flooded room within the dam. Throughout this process, the guest will guide you with a blue marker indicating where you need to go. Following the marker will lead you to the Sub Pump Control computer. Upon interacting with the computer, you’ll encounter an “Cannot Activate Pump” error message.

Exit the computer after receiving the error message. To activate the Sub Pump Control, you’ll need to disable it by shooting the modulator indicated by the blue marker on the wall in front of you.
After disabling the modulator, return to the computer and ensure all functions are operational. Once you confirm that everything is working, you’ll see that the water-draining process begins.

Once you’ve completed the water-draining process, the quest will direct you to open a nearby security gate. To unlock the door, simply interact with the computer in the adjacent room.
Now, continue straight and pass through a few rooms. Eventually, you will encounter a Vortex Phantom named Karija Ma’leen. She will warn you that you are not welcome there and that you should leave.

After conversing with her for a while and insisting that you won’t leave, she will disappear. However, your conflict with her is far from over. Take a few more steps, and she will reappear, starting a fight with you while stating that she warned you.
How to Complete the Teleportation Experiment
After defeating Karija Ma’leen, head to the new location marked as your objective. Here, you will encounter a locked door, which is where the Teleportation Experiment comes into play.
You’ll need to create a keycard by entering the correct numbers into the console in the room above. While the correct sequence is typically 2-3-5, you should enter the numbers 3-3-5 instead, as it operates with lower power.
Doing this will ensure the successful completion of the Teleportation Experiment. However, if you want to fully complete the mission, your tasks won’t end there.
Starfield: How to Get Shielded Cargo
After using the key card to open the door, Karija Ma’leen, whom you just defeated, will return with another Vortex Phantom named Vedrasa to attack you. You’ll need to take care of both of them. However, this won’t be your last encounter with them.
Once you deliver power to the interlock console and retrieve a Vortex Interlock, you’ll need to exit the dam and deliver the Interlock to Ekris. Doing so will allow you to complete the mission.
