Starfieldhas a hidden reference to the famous Konami Code…kind of. The easter egg was discovered by a user on Reddit, but it was quickly mocked by fellow players after they realized that the code was wrong. Whether or notBethesdagot the code wrong intentionally is unknown, but given that there’s a dead body next to the code, its inaccuracy may be simply part of the joke.
For those who might not be aware, the Konami Code is a famous cheat code that appears in various Konami games. The code has become so famous that other developers have also put the cheat into their games. Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, LittleBigPlanet 2, Dead By Daylight, and even Fortniteare just some of the titles that have paid homage to this famous piece of video game history.

Vin Diesel’s role in ARK 2 is, evidently, a passion project for the famed Hollywood actor.
When developers include a Konami Code reference in their games, it usually allows the user to input it for a special easter egg. Dead By Daylight, for example, will play a jingle sound from Gradius and grants the player with a special charm if they input the code whilst using a Silent Hill character.

Another example is BioShock Infinite, which unlocks a special “1999 Mode” difficulty mode when the Konami Code is entered at the game’s menu. While there is a reference to the code in Starfield, it doesn’t seem to do anything, likely because it’s incorrect.
Starfield Player Stumbles Across Konami Code Easter Egg
Over on the Starfield subreddit,Reddit user burried-to-deepposted a screenshot of the Konami Code reference saying, “If you know, you know.” Well, we kind of know, because the code found in Starfield isn’t actually accurate to the official Konami Code.
As you can see in the image below, the code found in Starfield is:up, up, down, down, down, right, left, right, b, a, start. Whereas the actual Konami code is:up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, start.Although, it is worth mentioning that part of the code seen in Starfield is covered by a pen, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that there’s still one too many ‘downs’.

As for where this little easter egg can be discovered, the user said they “forgot” where it was, so you’ll have to do some exploring acrossStarfield’s many planetsto discover it for yourself.
