Square Enix has announced that the Tactical Japanese RPG ‘Tactics OgreReborn’ will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 11th, 2022. The game will feature various new enhancements and will come in two editions: Physical/Digital Standard Edition and Digital-Only Premium Edition. Preorders are now available.
Tactics Ogre Reborn is based on Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together which was released for the PSP back in 2010, and was a remake of the original Tactics Ogre. Tactics Ogre combined many elements that resonated with players back in the day, such as isometric turn-based battles, super detailed pixel art, and a profound drama that progressed across multiple stories and ending, which made it insanely popular even to this day.
The new title features refined game design, graphics, sound and UI, in addition to fully voiced lines and cutscenes. The standard edition will be priced at $49.99 USD and the digital premium edition will be priced at $59.99 USD. Interested players can also opt for the Tactics Ogre Reborn Collector Edition for 20,000 Yen (Approximately $163.74 USD), which is currently exclusively available on Square Enix’swebsitein Japanese. This edition includes art and script books, a mini soundtrack music album and tarot cards/playmat inspired by the in-game travel system.
Tactics Ogre Reborn will feature improved high-resolution graphics, renewed and simplified AI, rebuilt sound effects and rerecorded BGM with live music. The game will be available in both English and Japanese audio, interchangeable at any time from the in-game config menu. Instead of having to level up each class, players can now level up each unit individually, which allows you to tinker more with the characters to your satisfaction. Quality of life improvements are also implemented, such as faster battles, auto-save and controls overhaul.
