What Are Tech Crates In Spider-Man 2?
Tech Crates, also called tech boxes by the community, areabandoned containers stashed all over the city that containTech Partsand rare tech parts. These crates show up asblack boxes with a blue light and green crates with a yellow light. The black crates contain regular Tech Parts to be used on suits and gadgets, and the green crates contain rare Tech Parts that can be used for the same purpose to greater effect.
Districts can contain between 20 and 30 Tech Crates, however, it is not necessary to collect them all. Players are only required to collect a certain number of Tech Parts (albeit a fair amount) in order to max out their suit andgadget upgrades. Once this has been completed, there is no need to collect more even though there will likely be a number of crates left over. Furthermore,it is not necessary to collect every crate because there is no trophy on offer for doing so. However, it is possible to collect every crate if you’re a devout completionist because the crates do not respawn like crimes.

How To Find Tech Crates
Upon beginning Spider-Man 2, the only way you will be able to find Tech Crates is by chance, as they are not marked on your main map or mini-map. In order to achieve this, you’ll be able to identify Tech Crates when you hear a pulsing ring nearby. The closer you get to the crate, the louder the pulse will become, indicating that you’re getting warmer, so to speak.Another way to identify Tech Crates on the fly is by the blue or yellow glow emitting from them. These lights are easier to spot if you’re swinging over the city and using Spider-Man’s web wings will let you glide at a high altitude allowing you to scout for these lights more easily.
It should be noted that Tech Crates are not only found on building rooftops. They are also commonly found sitting in back or side alleys, making the light harder to spot from the skies. Most crates can either be found in alleys or rooftops, however, some buildings have multiple levels towards the top that may take some investigating using the pulse as a guide.

After progressing through the main story, the ability to upgrade Suit Tech will become available to you. The Suit Tech menu offers four subsections each containing a number of upgrades, but you’ll want to find the Traversal tab at the bottom of the menu.Under Traversal, the seventh upgrade available to you is called the All Seeing upgradeidentified by an eye icon andunlocked at Level 21. Once this is available to upgrade, use the Tech Parts you’ve already collected, as well asHero Tokens, to equip this, andit will reveal all the Tech Crates on your mini-map under a gray box icon. Something to note is you’ll need to acquire the first six upgrades in the Traversal menu before the All-Seeing one is made available.
While the All Seeing upgrade helps enormously to mark where Tech Crates are in the area, these icons do not show on the main map, which leaves the possibility of some being overlooked. If you’re hellbent on collecting all the Tech Crates for bragging rights, navigating systematically through the streets will help you come across all the crates.

Alternative Ways To Farm Tech Parts & How To Use Them
Not only does the All Seeing upgrade reveal the location of Tech Crates, but this perk also uncovers the locations of Spider Bots, identified by the pink spider icon. You’ll also want to collect Spider-Bots to farm Tech Parts, but unlike the unrewarding task of collecting all the Tech Crates, collecting all the Spider Bots will give you anot-to-be-missed cutscene. Additionally, Tech Parts can also be gathered by completingFNSM requestswith each rewarding you with 250 Tech Parts.Hunter Blindsand EMF Experiments also dish out Tech Parts upon completion.
After you begin gaining Tech Parts, it’s advised to hold on to the resources until the Suit Tech upgrade tree becomes available, as these upgrades will be useful in combat, and they require a number of Tech Parts to complete. Navigating to the Suit Tech tree in the main menu will offer four subsections with each section offering up to 10 upgrades. It should also be noted that Hero Tokens are also needed to upgrade Suit Tech:

Similarly, theGadgetsmenu offers five subsections referring to all of Spider-Man’s gadgets. These items can also be upgraded with Tech Parts to max out their efficiency:
Upgrading tech and gadgets may seem a little boring when there are plenty of suits to unlock, which is why a number of players will initially spend all of their Tech Parts crafting suit styles. Some suits only carry one design, however,a number of suits for bothPeter ParkerandMiles Moralesrequire additional Tech Parts to craft suit styles, which gives the chosen suit a different color scheme.
