During the latest episode of State of Play, Sony revealed a number of PlayStation Stars collectibles and revealed the release date of the service in Japan and western regions.

A few months earlier, Sony official unveiled PlayStation Stars as a new free service that offers rewards for PlayStation gamers to value their loyalty and the time they spend playing games on PlayStation consoles. In PS Stars, you will receive some monthly campaigns and activities, upon completing which you earn unique digital collectibles that you can add to your PSN account and show off! Below, you can check out some of these unique rewards:

Also, you’re able to expect an Ape Escape 2 digital collectible and a number of other unique digital items.

Each one of these collectibles will require you to complete a certain task in a limited amount of time or even earn a certain achievement. Once you manage to get one of these collectibles, you can place it in your special virtual display in PlayStation App.

While some collectibles can be earned by playing any game you have, some other will only be achievable under certain conditions. Unfortunately, the campaigns for earning the announced collectibles have not been shared yet.

As Sony revealed a few months earlier, the collectibles in PlayStation Stars are not NFTs and you cannot transfer them from one account to another. However, it might add some value to an account when someone decides to sell it or even sell the console.

The exact release date for PlayStation Stars in western regions has not been revealed, but the PlayStation representative referred to the following weeks after its launch in Japan. So, we can rest assured that the service will be available worldwide until the end of this year.
