Since hitting big in the early ’90s, Pharrell Williams hasn’t looked back and has cemented himself as one of the most influential artists of the 21st century. But apart from his expertise in the realm of music, the acclaimed rapper is also notable for delving into the fashion business and recently served as a producer on his LEGO biopic,Piece by Piece.

Ahead of the big election in November, many major celebs have made their stance clear about their respective political lining, which includes two major pop icons, Taylor Swift and 50 Cent. When asked about his stance on this subject,Pharrell Williamsshowcased annoyance withcelebrities’ involvementin this matter. While there are certain figures, whom he respects when it comes to their political linings, for the most part, he’slike“Shut up. Nobody asked you”.
I don’t do politics. In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you [who to vote for]. There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you.’

However, the rapper did clarify that he does“care about my people and I care about the country”, stressing he’s more about action.
Pharrell Williams Is More About Policies Than Politics
Further elaborating his viewpoint on the situation, thePiece by Pieceproducer shared he’s“much more of a federal employee”, who’d show up to work every day and serve their country. The acclaimed songwriter said that he also doesn’t see himself voting far-right anytime soon, sharing that he’s more about policies than politics.
I don’t really do politics. Some policies I lean into; I think education is important. We have a nonprofit called YELLOW [whose mission is equity through education], and then there’s another 501(c)(3) that helps Black and Brown entrepreneurs called Black Ambition — those are the things I lean into. I’m not an activist, but I believe in action. But I do believe in activists, and you need everybody.

As for his foray into the realm of movies with his biopicPiece by Piece, the early reactions to the LEGO feature have been extremely positive, as it currently sits at95%on the Tomatometer.
