One of the biggestElden Ringmysteries might have finally been revealed. It’s been over a year sinceShadow of the Erdtreewas first announced, and all those days of waiting have finally been worth it after its release on June 21st.

When we were first privy to the existence of the Land of Shadow, out of the many questions that arose, one stood above all: Where exactly is it located? Thanks to some inquisitive and dedicated Tarnished, we might have finally found the answer that possibly confirms a lot of exciting theories.
Where is the Elden Ring DLC’s Land of Shadow Located?
This is a question that’s been theorized on an endless number of times. We’ve never been told the exact location of the area; only how to get to it (via the cocoon in Mohg’s arena).
While a ton of compelling theories have been floating around, one screenshot from a fellow Tarnished who’s found a pivotal landmark inShadow of the Erdtree‘s map may have just settled the debate completely.

Within the Land of Shadow lies a tombstone with an important message:
The very center of the Lands Between. All manner of Death wash up here, only to be suppressed.

If what the stone says is to be believed, then many players who theorized the Land of Shadow to be in the central part of the map are nearly accurate.

The next stage to answering this question lies in whether this area is in the sky, under the central ocean, or concealed in plain sight at the center of the map.
The Land of Shadow May Have Been Right Under Our Nose the Whole Time
From what Miyazaki has revealed in interviews, we know that the Land of Shadow is somewhere in the same universe and the same space as the map. Because of certain story elements that will be revealed in the DLC, the new realm is physically disconnected.
Shadow of the Erdtree May Include a Subtle Message From the FromSoft Devs to Stop Relying on 1 Cheesing Method We All Use
Using clues from Miyazaki’s interviews and the (very) few trailers for the DLC that came out closer to the release date, people made some big connections.
One of the most prevailing theories was how the Land of Shadow was located at the center of the mapin plain sight but concealed by a veil, similar to how Marika hid the Evergoal to hide the truth behind her history and godhood.

After a Miyazaki interview where he claimed that the name of the DLC had two meanings, a theory came out that the Land of Shadow was concealed somewhere in the “shadow” of the great Erdtree, essentially the region under the Altus Plateau.
Just like the Evergaol, could Marika have covered the area in a veil, for reasons that the DLC might explain?
