April has been an exciting month forÂResident EvilÂfans withthe release ofÂResident Evil 3on consoles and PC last week. WhileNemesis has proven to be terrifying on his own in the game, he might prove to be even more terrifying in the upcoming tabletop adaptation of the classicÂResident EvilÂtitle.Tabletop game publisherSteamforged Games has announcedthat the company will be launching a Kickstarter campaign for one of its next projects later this month,Resident Evil 3: The Board Game. The team behind their previousÂREtabletop adaptation,ÂResident Evil 2: The Board Game, is returning for theÂRE3board game, with the Kickstarter campaign to debut on June 04, 2025.
According to Steamforged, the game will adapt the original 1999 classicResident Evil 3to a tabletop setting, where 1-4 players will be challenged by its cooperative survival-horror gameplay. The game will allow players to either dive into “a 19+ hour campaign with an overarching storyline,” or players can take on smaller games in “individual, on-shot scenarios.” The game’s core protagonists, Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira, will be playable alongside other characters as they seek to escape the clutches of Nemesis, as Raccoon City is under the pressure of the T-virus outbreak.
Coming after the release of the anticipatedÂResident Evil 3Âremake last week, the timing of Steamforged’s announcement and campaign couldn’t be better. Of course, given the success that the company has had with the tabletop adaptation ofÂResident Evil 2, it shouldn’t be a surprise that we can expect another excellent tabletop treatment withÂRE3.
Resident Evil 3: The Board Gamewill launch its Kickstarter campaign later this month, andyou can check out the initial campaign page here. According to Steamforged, if the campaign gets 2,500 followers before its launch, a miniature of Jill Valentine in biker gear will be added to the game.
