Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Trading Mechanic Is Too Limiting
According to the social media post, Pokemon TCG Pocket’s trading mechanic is launching in January, along withthe next booster set.
However, trading can only bedone between friends, with cards of the same rarity, using only cards from Genetic Apex and Mythical Island sets, with a strict limit on the rarity, and items will be consumed in the process.

It’s unclear exactly what items will be used, but the most likely answer is Shinedust, considering its current limited use. If it’s tied to trading, then it will become far more prized than it currently is.
Pokémon TCG Pocket to Release in October 2024
Fans show enormous interest in the upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
Naturally, fans are disappointed with the current iteration of the feature, to the point where the a response was issued on the same Twitter/X post, asking fans to give it a try first before condemning it.

“Thank you, everyone, for your immediate thoughts on this topic! Your concerns are seen. Once this feature becomes available, I’d like to invite everyone to try it and provide feedback. This way, the game can continue to evolve in an enjoyable way for everyone.”
Whether fans will take to the trading feature remains to be seen. Those expecting unlimited card swapping need to understand that the point of the game is to make money, and Pokemon TCG Pocket is agacha game at heart, albeit a generous one.
If players had universal trade, then there would be no point in opening packs, as it would be easy for people to complete their collections, reducing their interest in playing the game, as chasing rares is a big part of the fun.
If the responsefrom the player baseis extremely vitriolic, then trading might be changed, but for now, fans will have to see how it works and make their voices heard if it’s bad.
