Types of Hourglass
Pack Hourglasses
Pack Hourglasses are one of your most important resources in Pokemon TCG Pocket. New players will come to realize thatyou can only open two free packs per day, as shown by the 12-hour timer.
Of course, you can speed up this process by using Pack Hourglasses. Each hourglass will shave off an hour from this timer, effectively bypassing the time limit, as is custom in many Gacha-style games.
Wonder Hourglasses

You will see a list of packs that other people around the world have opened, and you can select one to have a1/5 chance of obtaining the card you desire.

Honestly, I feel I’ve gotten so many EX cards from this mechanic. While it may seem tough, losing 30+ wonder stamina and getting a Pidgey,1/5 are very good oddswhen you think about it.
Event Hourglasses
These hourglasses aren’t as important as the other two and only see use in special events,like the Blastoise Event that is currently underway.
These Event Hourglasses can be used to give you more opportunities to challenge the event and get thosespecial promo cards.
Starting Off Strong
The best way to get Hourglasses at the beginning of your TCG Pocket journey is to complete the Solo battles. If you don’t have all the cards required to make an effective deck and exploit the type weaknesses,you can even use a rental deck to clear these missions.
In addition, you won’t have to worry about currency with these battles, as you’re able to try them over and over until you win.

By completing all these challenges, which you can do on the first day if you’re determined,you will earn over 100 Pack Hourglasses to spend.
Not only this, but each battle has its own series of missions to complete. For example, winning using a certain type, or getting 10 wins. These give rewards of shop tickets, which we will come to later on.
Another popular mechanic of card collection games is daily bonuses that incentivize people to open up the app every day. And TCG Pocket is no exception.
Firstly, each day you’re able to obtain a complimentary item set from the shop consisting of ashop ticket and a Wonder Hourglass. It’s not much, but certainly worth picking up.
Once this has been done, you’re going to want to complete the daily missions, by opening up your free packs or by performing a wonder pick. If you do one of each,you will complete three missions and earn the reward of 4 Pack Hourglasses.
Again, this seems like a small bonus, but they stack up fast.

The main way to earn XP to level up is by opening packs, which will give 25 XP each time. Of course, once you’ve run out of packs, there aren’t many great options.
