PokemonGo players are not happy with the changes Niantic intends to bring to the game’s remote raids on April 6, with some even claiming that the price increase could be the death of the game. The community has begun speaking against Niantic’s decision to bring a cap to the remote raids, which allows players to participate in a maximum of five raids per day.

Niantic has revealed some major changes for the remote raids via an official blog post on March 30, which were seemingly met with backlash from players. The price of Remote Raid Passes will be increased, and players will now only be able to join five raids per day. This limit imposed on how many raid battles players will join on any given day has become a controversy, as they are upset by the changes that will affect their daily schedule.

Players quickly took their outrage to the likes ofRedditandTwitterto share their thoughts on the alterations, with some claiming that Niantic is completely removing the remote raid accessibility feature introduced back in 2020.

The community also pointed out that disabled players and those who live in rural areas will be directly affected by the changes, given they utilized remote raid passes to join battles due to some restrictions in their life. Another argument states that the price increase in remote raid passes will also increase the previously-established tax on disabled players.

The price of single remote raid passes will increase to 195 PokeCoins, while players will join the three-pack remote raids for 525 PokeCoins starting this week. Niantic will also bring a participation limit with the upcoming update, which allows players to participate in a maximum of five Remote Raids per day. Niantic has currently no plans to withdraw from changes to the remote raids, but the community backlash could result in the company reverting prices and removing the limit on how many raids players can participate in a single day. The changes will go into effect on April 6, at 11:00 AM PDT.
