Recently, Blizzard brought a brand-new tank character, Hazard, toOverwatch 2.As the 42nd hero and 13th tank added to the game’s ever-expanding lineup, he has gained the spotlight for his Scottish accent, muscular build, and affiliations with the Phreaks.

Hazard has proven to be an incredible attention to the hero-shooter. Blizzard has already buffed its abilities after listening to player feedback. However, the addition of this tank to the game’s ranked mode has brought a number of issues to the table, and players can’t understand why Blizzard never learns from its mistakes.
Hazard’s addition in comp has caused chaos forOverwatch 2players
Hazard’s addition to the roster has proven to be quitesuccessful since his toolkit allows players for that in-and-out playstyle rather than standing upfront for the team and soaking up all the damage. He’s both an offensive and defensive monster if used correctly.

However, Blizzard should’ve never added Hazard right out of the gate to competitive mode. As pointed out by many on the game’s official subreddit, the majority of the players aren’t used to Hazard’s toolkit, and they can’t use the hero to its fullest potential.
Adding any new hero to the game always brings the challenge of a learning curve for players trying to master them. It takes days, if not weeks, for players to properly figure out a hero’s abilities. Mastering a character in an unranked or arcade match makes sense, but competitive shouldn’t be a place for that.

The addition of new heroes inOverwatch 2leads to an absolute mess for the competitive side of the game as games become chaotic and unbalanced experiments. Blizzard must reconsider this approach and let players experiment and get a solid understanding of the characters first.
After a duration of 3-4 weeks, once the community has fully understood a new hero’s strengths, weaknesses, and counters, the hero should be brought to the competitive pool. This will allow gamers to prepare themselves and not lead to frustration in competitive matches.

Overwatch 2is losing the war againstMarvel Rivals
It’s fair to say that the last couple of weeks haven’t been kind to Blizzard andOverwatch 2. No one in their wildest dreams could’ve predictedthe success NetEase Games’Marvel Rivalswould go on to achieve. It has all the potential to become the leader of the hero-shooter genre, as it’s causing havoc forOverwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 Fans Mistake Fortnite’s Kado Thorne for a Lifeweaver Skin but That Crossover Is Impossible
Since the release ofMarvel Rivals,Overwatch 2has reached a new rock bottom. Blizzard’s hero shooterreached16,919 players on Steam, which is the lowest count for the game ever, at least since its arrival on Steam.
What’s worse is that the Marvel hero-shooter debuted with a peak count of 490,990 players, surpassingOverwatch 2‘s launch number of 75,608 players. If Blizzard doesn’t take the right steps, listen to the community’s feedback, and bring necessary features, it won’t be long before everyone forgetsOverwatch 2.

With that said, do you thinkOverwatch 2should restrict new heroes in competitive mode? Let us know in the comments below.
