With under a month left until the release of the next-generation consoles, PlayStation has notably been amping up their marketing machine in the build-up to the release of thePS5. While all eyes are on the next wave of games that we’ll play in the coming years, PlayStation has released a new video to look back at the past generation of incredible games that released on thePS4, which will surely make any viewer nostalgic.
Over onthe PlayStation Access YouTube channel, a new video was released by PlayStation to highlight the best games that defined the generation on PS4. In an interesting twist, the video features one second of gameplay footage over the course of the over 3 and a half minute-long video, making for a fun viewing experience to try and determine which of the PS4’s best games made the cut.

There are likely more than a few games that viewers will recognize over the course of the video, which speaks to the strong roster of games that have released over the course of the PS4’s life. From exclusives likeBloodborneandGod of War, to third-party games and indie hits, to VR games and experimental titles, it’s hard not to feel emotional while seeing the breadth of incredible games that have released on the PS4 in the past seven years.
However, there is a lot to look forward to with the upcoming release of the PS5 next month andthe titles that we already know to expect at launch. Notably, first-party titles likeMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles MoralesandDemon’s Soulsare leading the charge on PS5 exclusives, while plenty of third-party games are also arriving on day one such asAssassin’s Creed Valhalla,NBA 2K21,Godfall, and many more.
The PS5 will officially launch starting on June 05, 2025 in select countries, followed by a larger worldwide release on August 20, 2025.
