Sub Personas are a returning feature from previous spin-off games that are now inPersona 5 Tactica. Now, all party members are also able to use other Personas by equipping a Sub Persona.
Sub Personas give the character they are equipped to access to new skills that the character wouldn’t normally learn, along with additional boosts in stats to further strengthen the character. Due to their many benefits, it’s important to understand Sub Personas and use them properly to make your team as strong as possible.

What Are Sub Personas
Sub Personas are asecondary Persona that can be equipped to any member of thePhantom Thieveswhen in the Velvet Room. Equipping a Sub Persona willgive that character access to the Unique skill and Inherited skill of that Sub Personawhile not needing to trade out the usual skills of that character’s main Persona.
Sub Personas also haveadditional stats, HP, SP, Melee Damage, and Gun Damage, that are then added to that character’s statswhile equipped. Sub Personas can be equipped and unequipped on any characterother than Erinawhenever in the Velvet Room. Despite being the Wild Card,Joker also relies on Sub Personas and Arsene as his main Persona, just like the other party members.

How To Use Sub Personas
Sub Personasact as the majority of a character’s stat line,along with the potential to build party members the way players see fit. Every character does have a few skills that make them better at certain roles than others, but they are muchcloser to being blank slates in this gamecompared to the original. As the Phantom Thieves level increases,everyone’s HP, SP, Melee Damage, and Gun Damage will go up equally,with any real variation in stats coming from the equipped Sub Persona.
It’sbest to aim at using higher-level Sub Personas as they will have the highest stats.With the more linear and focused style ofPersona Fusionin the game, it can often be more difficult to get a specific skill onto a specific character. Without elemental affinities and weaknesses,covering specific elements is less important, with the raw stats of the Sub Personas being much more important.
