Palworld’scommunity manager, Bucky, has taken to social media to ask players to stop arguing about the game’s overall decline in numbers since its launch at the start of the year. When Palworld was released in January 2024, it was swamped with over 2 million players jumping into the monster-taming game created and published by Japanese developer Pocketpair, making it the second most played ever on Steam.

Since then, Palworld’s numbers have naturally taken a hit, although still amazing for a game in early access, with a daily peak of 25-30,000 players. In regards to the “fall in numbers”, Bucky expressed that players shouldn’t get into online arguments with others defending the game as “it’s super not worth your time.”

Even though Palworld’s gigantic player numbers at the beginning couldn’t realistically be sustained over time, its recentSakurajima updateon June 27, which saw new bosses, gear and buildings, helped raise those numbers quite a bit with a monthly peak of 143,308 players from its previous 15k. Palworld’s hardworking community manager, Bucky, posted on Twitter/X to ask fans not to engage in arguments with others who bash the game’s current numbers.

Bucky said that they appreciate those wanting to stand up for the game but that, ultimately, it’s really not worth the hassle. “Those posts are pure engagement bait. 99% of them are basically just NPCs desperate for a post to “do numbers” and the other 1% is just the media doing what media do.” stated Bucky before saying that, in the end, it doesn’t matter as “Palworld had 2mil, then it had 15k, now it has 140k…it’s not something to get angry about. In a few weeks, it’ll go down again, and in the next major update, it’ll go up. That’s just how it works.”

“Palworld could have literally 1 person playing it and that won’t take away from the fact that YOU played a fun game and have fun memories of it.”

Ending their post, Bucky wanted to leave a sound piece of advice for those who engage in this never-ending gaming debate, “Don’t let this constant gamer culture of dragging every game down, bickering, arguing, faux console war nonsensical garbo bait you into giving up even a second of your day.”
