The originalWarzonehas been re-branded and re-launched as ‘Warzone Caldera’, but with far less content than what players are used to. Warzone Caldera now only features two modes, solos and quads, both of which take place in the game’s most recent Battle Royale map, Caldera.WhenWarzone 2.0was released on November 16th, Activision confirmed that the original Warzone would be taken offline for an extended period of time. The game’s servers were made unavailable for almost two weeks, with the re-launch occurring at 10 AM PT on November 28th. Unfortunately, the newly re-launched Warzone only features one major Battle Royale map for players to jump into, Caldera. Rebirth Island quickly became a fan-favorite map when it launched with the first season ofBlack Ops Cold War. But, sadly, both Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep have been removed from the option of playlists in Warzone Caldera.

Numerous game modes were also introduced to Warzone between 2020 and 2022, with the most popular being Plunder, a respawn game mode that was all about collecting as much cash as possible. Plunder, along with various other game modes, have also been removed from the original Warzone. As noted by CharlieIntel in the tweet above, the only modes available to play in Warzone Caldera are Solos and Quads.

Although the in-game store tab is available, only COD points are available to purchase, which are transferable between most Call of Duty titles. In a recently released Call of Dutyblog postfor the launch of Warzone 2.0, Acitivison did address the original Warzone’s re-launch, stating that “player progression, cross-progression for XP and Weapon XP, inventories, Battle Pass content, weapons, Store Bundles, and other purchases fromCall of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019),Call of Duty: Warzone,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, andCall of Duty: Vanguard"will all be available in Warzone Caldera.
