There is no consensus yet on whether Luffy is definitively the most powerful being. Other top-tier characters like Kaido still seem to rival Luffy’s capacities. The discussions around Luffy’s new form will likely continue for a long time within the passionate One Piece fanbase. Nevertheless, the characters in this piece can definitely end all the debate regarding Luffy’s awakened form.
10Reg (Made In Abyss)
Reg inMade In Abyssappears almost comically small and cute with hischibi-like stature. However, to carelessly underestimate him is to court utter annihilation. Reg’s most powerful ability is the Incinerator, a blast of energy he can fire from his arm.
This attack is so powerful it can obliterate nearly anything in its path. But the most important feature of the Incinerator is that once an opponent is hit, they won’t be able to heal. It has the power to completely erase Gear 5 Luffy.
9Giorno Giovanna (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Luffy, having activated his Gear 5 form, embodies raw physical power and elasticity, pushing his abilities to the limit. However, Giorno, equipped with hisStand Gold Experience Requiem (GER), holds an ace that transcends physical limitations.
Even if Luffy were to land a blow, the ability of GER could revert the damage back to “zero,” leaving Giorno unscathed. Moreover, Luffy’s intention to attack or his process of transforming into Gear 5 could also be set to zero.

Ajimu is depicted to be almost omnipotent, possessing billions of abilities, which in the context of Medaka Box are known as skills. Some of these skills even allow her to break the fourth wall and acknowledge that she’s a fictional character. She sometimes communicates this awareness to the audience.
This is why Ajimu could use a skill that manipulates the very concept of ‘rubberiness’ that forms the basis of Luffy’s powers, nullifying his attacks and making his elastic body as brittle as glass. Despite Luffy’s awakening, the outcome would be heavily skewed towards Ajimu.
7Mahoraga (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Mahoraga is the ultimate trump cardof Megumi’s Ten Shadows technique in Jujutsu Kaisen. This technique allows the user to summon and control shikigami, which are mythological spirits or entities in Japanese folklore. The shikigami are stored in the shadows of the user, hence the name of the technique.

Mahoraga is so powerful that even the formidable Sukuna must watch his back when this shikigami is near. Mahoraga’s real power lies in adaptation – he learns from every attack against him. Luffy may land a solid first hit, but he’ll find no trick works twice on this foe. With each successive clash, Luffy’s odds of victory diminish.
6Meliodas (Seven Deadly Sins)
Gear 5 Luffy may have a chance to defeat Meliodas. However, when the demon prince assumes the title of the ruler of Hell, he is unbeatable.Meliodas has the advantage of Full Counter, which can reflect any physical or magical attack with more than double its original power.
This could potentially be a game-changer against Luffy’s powerful attacks. Meliodas has also been shown to be able to kill gods. His power is so immense that he had to leave Earth as it created a huge imbalance in the forces of nature.
5Yhwach (Bleach)
Yhwach’s most significant power is “The Almighty,” which allows him to see all possible futures at once and choose the one most advantageous to him. No matter how crazy Luffy’s rubbery body moves and morphs, Yhwach will anticipate it flawlessly.
Moreover, Yhwach’s ability to absorb souls could potentially allow him to weaken Luffy by gradually draining his life force. Finally, Yhwach’s physical prowess and Reishi’s manipulation mean that he’s not just relying on his Almighty ability.
4Naruto (Baryon Mode)
Naruto in Baryon Modehas a similar look to his Kurama Mode but with more pronounced fox-like features. His eyes become slit like those of a fox, and his hair stands up even more, becoming spikier.

This mode is different from Naruto’s usual transformations, like the Sage Mode or the Kurama Mode. It’s a last-resort power-up that comes at a great cost. Not even Luffy’s Gear 5 form might be able to match the speed and power that Naruto can muster in Baryon Mode.

Saitama’s whole shtick is that he can defeat any opponent with a single serious punch. Luffy’s rubber body might not save him from that. Against Gear 5 Luffy, Saitama would initially hold back as he usually does when sizing up an unfamiliar opponent. After realizing Luffy’s potential, Saitama would stop holding back and throw a real serious punch.
Even with Luffy’s rubbery defense and ability to expand his body, a serious punch from Saitama would shatter through his defenses. Saitama’s punch contains too much brute force – it would be like an unstoppable meteor hitting an expanding balloon.
2Rimuru Tempest (That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime)
Rimuru becomes incredibly powerfulafter evolving into a True Demon Lord. This provides him with almost godlike abilities, including control over causality, the creation and manipulation of matter, resurrection, and more.
Rimuru’s Predator skill evolves into Gluttony, an even more powerful version that allows him to not only consume and replicate abilities but also to manipulate time and space within his stomach. So, once Luffy challenges Rimuru, he has no way to escape and may well spend his life forever in Rimuru’s tummy prison.
1Featherine Augustus Aurora (Umineko When They Cry)
Featherine possesses truly godlike abilities that far exceed anything Luffy is capable of, even in his strongest Gear 5 Awakened form. With just a wave of her hand or a thought, Featherine can erase entire realities from existence.
She could, in theory, simply decide that Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation never existed or alter the reality to a state where Luffy is unable to fight. With all his resolve and willpower, Luffy doesn’t stand a chance against a truly omnipotent being like the Witch of Umineko. Against Featherine, Luffy’s gears are mere child’s play.
