Instead of“begging”the character, Jolene not to steal her man like what Parton did in the original song, the 42-year-old singer issues a “warning” for Jolene to stay away from her spouse.

According to theLemonadesinger’s rendition of the 1970s song, ‘Jolene’ is trying to“come between a family and a happy man,”seemingly referencing her husband cheating on her.

Shesings in the chorus,

“Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / I’m warnin’ you, don’t come for my man / Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / Don’t take the chance because you think you can.”

Yoncé not only warns her adversary by showcasing her empowering perception, but she also reaffirms her bond with her spouse in the same song with lines like“I know my man better than he knows himself”and “Jolene, I know I’m a queen.”

Even the original singer has complimented the former for her rendition onher Instagram. Whereas, the album itself broke several records, including within 24 hours of its release, including the biggest debut ever onAmazon Musicglobally.
