Since the series takes place roughly a hundred years before the prequel trilogy, fans have been wondering about what characters will feature in it.

During an interview, Headland was asked whether the series would feature a certain green Jedi Master. However, Headland gave a very clear and definitive answer about the possibility of Master Yoda appearing in the series. At the same time, Headland also shed some light on some of the newer Jedi characters introduced to the franchise inThe Acolyte.

The Acolytecreated byLeslye Headlandis a mystery-thriller series that recently made its debut on Disney+. Ahead of the show’s premiere, Headland sat down for a conversation withComicBook.com, where she discussed various aspects of the High Republic era, the story’s primary setting.

During the interview, Headland was asked whetherMaster Yodawould appear in the live-action series. Since Yoda was approximately over 700 years old during the events of the series, it is possible that the Jedi Master might make a quick cameo.

Headland made the above statement squashing the possibility of a Yoda cameo in the series.

The creator’s words strongly implied that using a character like Yoda required clearance from Lucasfilm’s top brass. Therefore, Headland seemingly hinted that she was not allowed to use the popular Jedi Master in the series despite Yoda being active when the story is set.

During the same interview, Headland revealed thatThe Acolytewould not be featuring any major characters from pre-existing canon material outside of theHigh Republicmulti-media project and theExpanded Universestories, which is no longer considered canon after Disney acquired Lucasfilm.

Headland made the above statement explaining what characters fans can expect to feature in the series.

So far, Vernestra Rwoh is the only character from previously existingStar Warsmedia to appear in the series. In a separateinterview, Headland also spoke about crafting an entirely new batch of characters for the series.

At the same time, Headland revealed that the aliens were among her favorite characters to bring to life in the series. She namedDafne Keen’s Jecki Lon, Rebecca Henderson’s Vernestra Rwoh, and Joonas Suotamo’s Kelnacca as her favorites. The series premiered with two episodes released on August 14, 2025, with the rest dropping weekly.

The Acolyte is streaming on Disney+.
