Falloutis in its Renaissance era at the moment. Propelled back into the limelight with a massively successful TV show, Bethesda is doing everything it can to welcome players both new and old to the wasteland, especially toFallout 4.

Despite the consistent updates these games are now receiving, in typical Bethesda fashion, they remain riddled with problems and bugs.Fallout 4in particular, as many players pointed out, continues to have 1 easily fixable major bug that the developer has ignored since the game’s release.
Fallout 4’s Weapon Debris Issue Is Still Not Fixed With the Next-Gen Update 2
Fallout 4‘s next-gen updates have been somewhat controversial, to say the least. While the first update from the developer did a great job upgrading the visuals and fixing the game’s horrendous load times, not only did it break mod support for the game completely, but the game also lacked any form of ray-tracing and birthed a ton of new texture issues.
With the game’sNext Gen Update 2, released on the 13th of this month, the team has made some big strides and fixed many of the issues that plagued the game. Along with fixing many of the game’s graphical issues, the update added the option of locking your frame rate between 30, 40, and 60 FPS.

In addition to this, HDR support is now available on the PS5, mod support has been somewhat restored, and a host of bug fixes have also been implemented. However, a much-needed fix continues to remain amiss, as Reddit user PigletCNC pointed out in the following post on r/Games:
Back when the game came out, Bethesda collaborated with Nvidia to improve the game’s graphics. Unfortunately, the implementation of Nvidia’s Flex technology in the form of weapon debris simply doesn’t work if you don’t have an older Nvidia GPU, crashing the game in the process.

So, how did the developers fix the weapon debris crash, one might ask? It placed a bandage on the whole thing by adding a toggle, which is still there, by the way, to let players decide whether to crash their game or not. Never change Bethesda; never change.
The Next-Gen Update Has a Lot More Bugs Than You Might Think
An interesting thing to note here is that outside of the weapon debris crash, the game is still riddled with a ton of problems.Right after the update dropped, the game’s list of unattended bug fixes quickly emerged across the internet.

For instance, the questline for The Mechanist continues to remain broken, there are a host of foliage issues in the game, the options to adjust brightness and FOV are still absent, the PS5 version is facing occasional crashes, the pip-boy companion app seems to no longer work since the update, and so on.
Perhaps the developers are awaiting the arrival of the game’s devoted modders to come and fix the issues. However, for now, the next-gen update will remain a mixed bag of improvements and glitches.

With that said, what are your thoughts onFallout 4‘s next-gen update? Did you experience any of the bugs mentioned? Let us know in the comments below.
