Taylor Swift‘s associates expressed their thoughts over the controversialNew York Timesopinion piece which speculated whether the pop sensation is a closeted queer person or not.
The anonymous associate toldCNN,
“Because of her massive success, in this moment there is a Taylor-shaped hole in people’s ethics. This article wouldn’t have been allowed to be written about Shawn Mendes or any male artist whose sexuality has been questioned by fans.”
The person continued,
“There seems to be no boundary some journalists won’t cross when writing about Taylor, regardless of how invasive, untrue, and inappropriate it is – all under the protective veil of an ‘opinion piece.’”
Editor Anna Marks wrote the 5000-word piece and compiled the list of LGBTQ references, that she suggested Swift put in her songs. She claimed that the singer has long been hinting about her queer connection. This is not the first time theBlank Spacesinger has had her identity questioned given that she has been a longtime ally and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
