Not only that, the software sales also crossed a staggering 1,306 million mark. The total Switch sale is more than the sales of the 3DS and Wii U combined. Nintendo Cuts Annual Profit Forecast 10% As Switch Sales Slow
As sales of its aging Switch console declined, Nintendo announced a 10% reduction in its operating profit forecast for the year ending March 2025, to 360 billion yen ($2.36 billion), on Tuesday.

The forecasted profit of 391.4 billion yen is less than what analysts had predicted. In an online press conference, this is what Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said:
For a platform that is in its 8th year in the market, both hardware and software enjoy stable demand and brisk sales. But sales so far fell short of our original projections. Taking into consideration their sales in the first half, we revised our forecasts for both hardware and software, and that led to the earnings revision.
In the first half of the fiscal year, the Kyoto-based gaming company sold 4.7 million Switch consoles, compared to 6.8 million units during the same period last year.
The console is in its eighth year of release, and Nintendo reduced its full-year sales projection by 7% to 12.5 million units. Compared to actual Switch sales of 15.7 million units a year earlier, that would represent a 20% decrease.
