As a debut title from a new studio established by veteran RPG makers of BioWare,Nightingaleis the latest big drop in the Survival Crafting genre this year. This category has already experienced massive success on Steam earlier this year withPalworldandEnshrouded.
Nightingale Early Access Impressions
A refreshing take on the survival genre with some all-too familiar ground.
Despite having its own characteristics and take on the genre, Nightingale is still a Survival Crafting game after all and features some standard looting and crafting mechanics that will surely play better in a 3rd-person view, as you will have better environmental awareness.

How To Switch To 3rd-Person View
If you navigate to theVideotab of theSettingspanel on the main menu, you will find an option to turn on the3rd-person viewin the game. Also, you canpress F5while playing the game to switch the view. However, keep in mind that this is an experimental mode.
Nightingale is an Early Access experience, which already tells you the game is 9 to 12 months away from being a complete experience with acceptable performance in all aspects. Yet the 3rd-person mode is experimental in Early Access. So, you should tune down your expectations, as the character animations will look a bit clunky and the combat will be much harder in the 3rd-person view for now.

That being said, using a 3rd-person perspective is still quite beneficial for exploring the realms, looting stuff, and finding hidden chests and treasures. So, if you want to see more of the environment by sacrificing a bit of atmospheric experience of Nightingale, it’s good to switch to 3rd-person mode sometimes.
Why Nightingale Uses Real People as Characters
