While there’s a lot of life left in the current-gen consoles we have now (PS5, Xbox Series X|S), it looks like details about the nextXboxare coming to light already.
The latest tidbit about the next Xbox comes from Jez Corden, who has shared accurate information regarding Xbox and Microsoft-related stuff.

Next Xbox Won’t Be Available Until 2027 It’s Claimed
Speaking in theXbox Two podcast, Corden shares that the next Xbox is going to be a PC but with a “TV-friendly shell,” which is what consoles are, really.
Corden states, “I mean the whole idea of the next Xbox is that it’s gonna be a PC in essence but with a TV-friendly shell that also has a specific set of specs in mind, so developers will be building for Windows PC in a way but in such a way that they know exactly what the specs will be. So maybe the Call of Duty rumor could be right, but if it is, the dev kit talk is more about what kind of specs that they’ve been told to target for the next Xbox, not about having any dev kit.”

The rumor Corden is referring to is the one mentioned by Call of Duty leaker Ghost of Hope on Twitter/X, where the personstatesthat Call of Duty 2026 is being developed using devits on the next Xbox.
Corden adds, “If the info about Call of Duty is accurate [about it launching on the next gen Xbox in 2026], there is no devkit right now. So like the idea that developers have already gotten the next-gen Xbox’s dev kit… that’s just not accurate.”

In short, Corden flattens the “Call of Duty 2026 is being developed on next Xbox devkits” rumor by stating it’s untrue, since there is no devkit made or shared to developers at all.
One of the Biggest Xbox Games for 2025 Has Been Delayed
Craig Duncan announced that Fable is being delayed to next year.
Same as with the devkit rumors, this is also unconfirmed info, and as such, should be treated with a grain of salt. If there is any truth to this, then gamers will be getting the next generation of consoles in two years' time, which I’m personally OK with.

Personally, I’m more interested in what Microsoft will actually call this thing since the company doesn’t follow a traditional numbering system like the PS5 to PS6, Nintendo Switch 2 etc. Xbox Series Z? Xbox Alpha? Hopefully, when it does get revealed, we’ll see a more dynamic controller design rather than just ripping the one from Xbox Series X|S and calling it a day. That is, if we’re getting another next-gen Xbox. One former executive at Xboxthinks Microsoft would stop making hardwareif given a choice.
Speaking of controllers, if you prefer the PS5’s DualSense controller than the traditional Xbox gamepad, an accessory maker is developing “The Competitor” controller that looks like a mimic of the DualSense but for the Xbox Series X|S.
