Legendary manga artist Akira Toriyama, creator of the iconic Dragon Ball series, has pretty much kept his personal life and the future of his most famous works under wraps. Still, in one of the very few peeks into his family life, Toriyama did let it slip that his children, Sasuke and Kikka, already turned out to have a knack for creativity.

Of course, Toriyama’s kids won’t necessarily try to take over his Dragon Ball empire, and it’s for a reason that might surprise you. While fans are on their toes regarding a successor story leaping into action right after Dragon Ball, we explore the possibility of a new generation of Toriyamas in the making.

In ashocking interviewfrom July 2019, Germany,Akira Toriyamaallowed the world a sweet view into his personal life. He mentioned that he is proud and in awe of his children with budding talents. Toriyama commented that his children seem to have inherited his skillful hands, making him wonder whether they might turn out just like him—a mangaka.
My children do already have talent, but I don’t know if they want to becomemangaka.

However, Toriyama pointed out that he himself does not know whether they are interested in the competitive world of making manga and is also very wary of making them pursue what is his entire passion. On the other hand, Toriyama wanted to keep supporting them so that they are able to develop their interests and find their own paths in life.
What We Know So Far About The Toriyama Kids
Although Akira Toriyama kept his life pretty private, there have been some hints as to his children. This famous creator of popular manga has two children—a son named Sasuke and a daughter named Kikka, both born in 1987 and 1990 consecutively. And what’s even more interesting, Sasuke has already worked on aDragon Ballproject which was the latest movie, named “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero“.

According to somecredible sources, the Dragon Ball franchise is currently in the hands of the publisher Shueisha, anime producer Toei Animation, lead distributor Funimation internationally, and Bandai Namco Productions for merchandising and licensing.
Apart from that, we still don’t know much about Toriyama’s children and how the estate and finances will be settled for the future. Though he may be gone, his children and his creations will live on. But just exactly how those children will be involved is yet to be determined.
