Modern Warfare 2is home to plenty of weapons that players can choose and customize to their liking. Assault Rifles such as theM4 and the Kastov 762 are considered S Tier weapons, while SMGs like thePDSW 528 and the Fennec 45seem to outshine the rest. However, there is one Submachine Gun in particular that appears to be underrated by the majority of the Call Of Duty community, and that is theMX9.

The MX9 Submachine Gun is a weapon that most players drop in favor of guns like the Fennec 45 and even theLachmann Sub– mainly due to the gun’s many flaws. The MX9 SMG hasthe smallest mag sizeamong all the guns of its weapon type, carrying only25 rounds in each clip. It also has thelowest bullet velocity, putting it behind most weapons in the game. While the range of the MX9 is also low in comparison to other SMGs, it still outshines the Vel 46, which is the first Submachine Gun available for all players. Unfortunately, this weapon does not have a lot going for it compared to other weapons, but it can still be a good choice when paired with the right attachments.

Unlocking The MX9
The MX9 requires players to fulfill specific prerequisites, as it cannot be unlocked by simply reaching a certain rank. The MX9 is a part of theBruen Bullpup Weapon Platform, so you will first need to reachlevel 41 to unlock the STB 556 Assault Rifle. All that is left now is to get yourSTB 556 to Weapon Level 13to gain access to the MX9 Submachine Gun. Leveling up weapons is a fairly simple task – many in-game tasks that grant XP will also grant Weapon XP. However, gaining eliminations with the gun you are trying to level up is currently the most efficient and surefire way of gaining Weapon XP.

The attachments we have chosen for the MX9 willimprove its damage, range, and accuracy. However, this is achieved by reducing its mobility and handling by a minimal amount. Our first attachment recommendation is theXTEN BLACK NITEmuzzle, which provides thebest level of recoil controland accuracy out of all the suppressors available. This muzzle alsoincreases the bullet velocityof your gun, allowing your bullets to reach opponents much faster. Pair this with the508 REAR GUARDtodrastically improve the effective rangeof the MX9, at the cost of handling.
Though your choice of optic is largely down to personnel preference, theS7 MINIis fairly easy to obtain. However, any red dot sight will do the trick. The fourth attachment we recommend is theVLK LZR 7MW, mainly to bring your aim-down-sight speed back to a manageable amount. This laser attachment will alsoimprove your sprint-to-fire speed, thus preventing sprinting from negatively affecting your gunfights.
The final attachment we recommend is the32 ROUND MAG,which bumps up the number of rounds from 25 to 32. A larger magazine will prove useful fortaking down more opponentswithout having to reload as often.

For your Custom Perk Package, you will want to equip perks that support an aggressive play style – this is where the MX9 will prove the most beneficial. Your first Base Perk slot can beTrackertoreveal enemy footprint trails. This will allow you to keep track of all enemy players on the battlefield. Our next recommended perk isScavenger, which gives you theability to restock ammunitionfrom eliminated players.
Forimproved reload speeds, go ahead and takeFast Handsto counter the reload speed reduction of the 32 ROUND MAG. Lastly, consider takingQuick Fixfor fast healing on the go, so long as you are gaining eliminations. Quick Fix will prove useful forkick-starting your health regeneration, thus ensuring you are in tip-top shape for your next gunfight.
For Warzone 2 however, you will need to make use of a preset Perk Package. Our first recommended Perk Package isSpecter, which comes withDouble Time, Tracker, Spotter, and Ghost. Alternatively, you could chooseWeapon Specialist, as it offersOverkillfor equipping an additional primary weapon.
Explosive Secondary
For regular Multiplayer, consider utilizing aLauncherfor your secondary, preferably one that is capable of locking onto enemy killstreaks. This way you may keep the airspace clear, not only to keep you and your teammates off the mini-map but to also allow friendly killstreaks to be called in. TheJOKR and the PILAare the only two launchers with a lock-on feature, though neither option is considerably better than the other.
For Warzone 2 however, we recommend pairing the MX9 with an additional primary, preferably one that performs well at a distance. Weapons from the LMG, Sniper Rifle and Battle Rifle categories are all viable options for dealing with players further away. The MX9 will prove as a close-range support weapon in this regard.
