A powered rail can increase and decrease the speed of a minecart that passes over it. You can use a powered rail to increase the speed of a normal minecart up to eight blocks per second. Furthermore, They can help in automatic farms, such as sugarcane farms, automatic smelters, and item sorters, among many others.
How To Craft A Powered Rail
You can craft six powered rails at once, and to make them,you need six gold ingots, one stick, and one piece of redstone dust. You can go mining to get the gold and redstone dust and chop a tree to get the wood to craft sticks. After getting the required resources, open a crafting table.
In the crafting menu, you’ll see a 3x3 crafting grid.Place a stick in the center of the crafting grid and a redstone dust below it, then place three gold ingots in the left column and three in the right column. Now, click on the powered rail to get them.
How To Use Powered Rails
You can activate a powered rail by placing a redstone block or by touching it on the sides or on the bottom. An activated powered rail will give the minecart a speed boost of eight blocks per second. However, while passing over an inactive powered rail, the speed will decrease, and the minecart will eventually stop.
To achieve a top-speed minecart in your rail system, place one powered rail every eight blocks. But If you are low on resources, you can save them by placing one powered rail every 38 blocks, but that way, you will lose speed.
